“DEVELOPING EXTENSIVE AND ON-GOING TRUSTING CONNECTIONS”

MGT finances startups and capital risk activities with an economic model based on the importance of “fishing the right fish”, that is to say, attracting reliable, talented entrepreneurs.

Although it was relatively easy to identify the right targets, it was much harder to generate trust and encourage entrepreneurs to get involved.

FOCUSED AND TARGETED APPROACH

VV set off meet different people involved in the startup ecosystem: she initially used her personal network to approach targets, identified opportunity via the internet and participated in strategic events where she met up-and-coming companies.

During each encounter, she highlighted the synergies between the target’s values, skills and potential and MGT. This was the first step in generating the necessary trust to favour authentic interactions.

She then organised a series of meetings to develop a closer relationship and deeper understanding. Valentine attended these meetings to introduce the two parties in a very personal way and friendly atmosphere.

From this point, MGT was able to capitalise on, extend and deepen the relationships.
